DECLINING TREND IN EDUCATION WITNESSED DURING COVID-19 : A CASE STUDY OF 2020-2022

More than 82 % of students of primary education in West Bengal are dependent on Government School. When all schools remained closed for more than two years in West Bengal, most of primary school students failed to learn anything from school during those days. The poor students especially of rural areas did not have the opportunity to learn through online learning. The present study examines the effect of Covid-19 on the education of primary school children of West Bengal. The study levels an alarming situation of primary education. The study shows that a large section of students of primary schools have forgotten to solve basic mathematics and to write basic letters in their mother language. The present study is based on primary data of 750 students from primary schools in West Bengal, India. The study also confirms that during the pandemic girl students and students from village government schools were the worst hit in comparison to boys who are from city-based schools and private schools respectively. Social intelligence refers to the ability to read other people and understand their intentions and motivations. Social intelligence can be defined as the intelligence that lies behind group interactions and behaviors’. Social intelligence is closely related to cognition and emotional intelligence, and can also be seen as a first level in developing systems of intelligence. The present study was conducted on 360 post graduate students from Telangana State. The result reveals that there was a significant difference in social intelligence among post graduate student with respect to age. Key Words: Social intelligence, Post graduate students.

The present dissertation work titled, “Effect of Academic Performance on Self-Esteem and Leadership Qualities among High And Low Achieving School Students” is based on self-esteem and leadership qualities of secondary school students. The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Questionnaire (RSQ) and the Leadership Style Questionnaire (LSQ) were used to collect a data from students. The information was gathered from 360 students (180 boys and 180 girls) from two schools. For this study ex-post facto research design has been used. The data analysis is done with the help of t-test. The findings revealed that there is no significant difference in self-esteem and leadership qualities between boys and girls and between high and low academic performers. Boys having a democratic leadership style and girls have a facilitative leadership style, as do compare to boys, and the majority of students have a facilitative leadership style.

Purpose: In this study, we investigated middle school teacher psychological problems and physical problems during phases of pandemic situation. Further analysed the difference between male female middle school teachers who face difficulty in pandemic situation. Methods: We collected data from both male female 300 middle school teachers using questionnaire related to mental, physical and psychological problems faced by teachers during pandemic on online teaching. Results: Both male and female middle school teachers face psychological problems during pandemic on online teaching. On other hand, teachers who belong to joint family and nuclear family also have psychological problems during pandemic on online teaching. Hence during pandemic situation, middle teachers have lot of psychological as well as physical problems during pandemic on online teaching. Conclusion: teachers play crucial role in society during pandemic situation. Hence, teachers have to play dual role in teaching as well as family situation concerns regarding the health consequences may contribute the observed increase in psychological problems in pandemic on online teaching. This research will explore the issue of identity in postcolonial literature. In the modern world with the increase in immigrant numbers, hybrid nations, and the constitution of countries with different cultural diversities the question of identity came to the surface. The research will present and discuss those theorists' arguments about the issue of identity in the postcolonial world and how they viewed and presented their ideas about constructing identity in former colonized countries and immigrants from these countries who suffered from facing the diasporas and the dilemma of the difficulty to construct their identity. The paper will investigate postcolonial novelists, especially writers in former British colonies such as V.S. Naipaul, Sam Selvon, and Tayeb Salih. As postcolonial theorists considered the issue of identity as one of its essential discussions, novelists also exposed and expressed the conditions of identity crises that emerged in the post-colonial period. The term ‘Classroom ‘refers to that place in the journey of education which is beneficial to a student for academic as well as social learning where two important activities take place, that is teaching and learning. This place fosters the learners to remain focused in order to eliminate distraction from learning, to ease the flow of learning activities and help the students to ensure that the lessons run at ease without any disruptive behavior from the learners. The teacher’s role is that of a manager who devises various means to ensure that the class runs smoothly without any kind of disturbance from the learners. Classroom Management is one of the core components of effective teaching – learning process. Hence, the teacher has to use a variety of techniques and strategies to keep the students focused and attentive in order to achieve the educational goals. This can be attained by incorporating the five C’s as a part of the Managerial techniques which focuses on the smooth transition in the classroom by merging several principles of Classroom Management theories. This paper attempts to focus on the concept on human dignity .It intends to re-search into the proper definition of human dignity in relation to elderly people. The paper also aims at showing that though Quality of life (QOL) of an elderly people can be deteriorated with social changes, but no one can snatch away one’s own dignity. Taking example from Kant’s ethics, I would like to show here that we should take care of elderly people not from emotional or sentimental point of view but our ethical principle asks us to do so. To do this, first of all I tried to show multifarious use of the concept ‘human dignity’ and then I made a distinction between human dignity and human rights. Sometimes it is mistakenly thought that these two concepts represent the same idea. After that, I have tried to show how elderly people lack human dignity though apparently. India has become more concerned regarding the strategic importance of Afghanistan since 2001 as a foreign policy tool. India uses soft power to gain influence in Afghanistan. Culture, ideology and institutions are examples of soft power, while physical resources such as military power and economic strength are examples of hard power. Investing billions on infrastructure, mostly in Afghanistan, has helped India achieve positive results and generate good will. Indian participation in the emerging political structure in Afghan was quick after the dawn of the Taliban rule in 2001. The multifaceted engagement brought India closer to Afghanistan. During Afghan reconstruction, India used a soft power strategy. According to India’s policy in Afghanistan, the aim was to support the arising democratic rule and prevent the Taliban from returning. Four factors motivate India’s engagement in Afghanistan. This study aims to assess the role Afghanistan plays in Indian foreign policy. In enchantment procedure towards Afghanistan, it represents a smooth-potential approach and a longstanding aim. Due to its importance to India’s foreign policy in its neighbourhood, energy security and regional security are New Delhi’s highest priorities. In cohering the statement under new National Education Policy (NEP-2020) in India, a common guiding set of National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST) has to setup in coming years. In which General Education Council (GEC) has given the responsibilities to frame expected learning outcomes along with professional standard setting. The purpose of this study is to draw an attention how teachers’ teaching styles at higher education level dominates the creativity of their students. Marjane Satrapi's The Complete Persepolis is a coming-of-age graphic memoir that tells of the author's experiences growing up during and after the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran. Initially published in two volumes in America (and in four books in France), the first half of Persepolis is a memoir of Marjane's girlhood, growing up under the new Islamic regime and the Iran-Iraq war. In contrast, the second half presents her experiences in exile in Vienna at fourteen years old, her eventual return to Iran at nineteen, and her decision to leave Iran again at twenty-four. Persepolis is not just a graphic novel but also an autobiographical comic strip description of the youth of the revolutionary and war-torn Iranian writer Marjane Satrapi. Satrapi's drawing style is simple, the characters are essential, and the scene rarely contains details. Many drawings resemble woodblock prints, and Satrapi effectively uses black and white. Clothing, backgrounds, and various information can be black or white, creating an effective and strong contrast.

The present study investigated the Interest inclination within the commerce stream. The study was conducted on Twelve hundred and four (1204) 11th& 12th Commerce students by giving due representation to boys and girls as well as rural and urban location of the six administrative regional zone in Maharashtra state, namely: Pune, Aurangabad, Amravati, Nasik, Kokan and Nagpur. The High schools were selected using stratified random sampling technique. The selected schools are affiliated to the Higher Secondary School Board controlled by the department of education, government of Maharashtra. The descriptive survey method is used for data collections. Interest inclination within the commerce stream was measured through Commerce Interest Inventory (CII). The finding of the study reported that, i) comparisons between rural and urban students on CII shows that urban students are higher on …… than Urban Students, ii) on ……..Urban Students were higher on ……..Than ruler students. ii) Comparisons between male and female students on CII show that male students are higher on.. This paper explains about the needs of school students in their school and home experience of curiosity and parental encouragement. Wisdom is the ultimate achievement of curiosity and sense of wonder, and it’s what we’re each meant to wield to impact the world around us. This study assist practitioners in identifying and defining the holistic needs of ninth standard students in order to improve school services and program for their high school to college transition and the college to post baccalaureate transition. So, parental encouragement and curiosity plays major role in school students which provides significant information about the school and enable researchers to gain a more complete picture of the educational aspirations attained. Major findings of this study reveals that no significant relation between parental encouragement and curiosity.So, parents must encourage him/her to explore the world around ,asking questions and making connections .And also the school must provide an opportunity with different kinds of learning styles, showing enthusiasm to explore subjects that fascinate the students.

It also helps communicate cultural and governance attributes that make a country admirable. The success of inbound tourism is often seen as a key measurement of a nation’s soft power. Tourism industry is a service industry which helps to enhance and raise the revenue/economy of the destination and the local community. The aim of the study is evolving 'Pandav Circuit' in Himachal Pradesh: enhancing the religious, cultural and socio-economic value of the sites visited by Pandavs`. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compile and analyze the information that has been previously published in the ‘Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses' Issue Briefs (MP-IDSA). Designed/methodology approach: Analytical approach was used to analyze the past 10 years of published work of Issue Briefs from 2011 to 2020. The analysis includes the year-wise distribution pattern and quantity of Issue Briefs and the number of pages. It also includes the percentage space attributed to different issues and topics in terms of thrust areas. Research limitation(s): The research is confined to only the 10 years of Issue Brief publications spanning from 2011 to 2020, and no other aspects were taken into account for this particular research paper. Key finding(s): According to the findings of the research, there were a total of 2844 pages of material produced by 303 different Issue Briefs. The average number of pages per Issue Brief was 9.38 pages. Other findings of this research paper show that the topics related to ‘Indian Defence and Security’ took up the most space in terms of the number of articles and pages that were published. Topics related to ‘Indian Defence and Security’ had 98 articles (32.34%) and 896 pages (31.9%). Practical implication(s): This research highlights the gap and loophole in the present style and publishing procedures of MP-IDSA. The study would surely raise awareness among prospective writers, readers, policy experts, and analysts in general, as well as among Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA) stakeholders and researchers in particular. This research will aid in understanding the breadth and coverage of these Issue Briefs. Contribution to knowledge: The study aimed to emphasize MP-IDSA’s Issue Brief’s reach for the researchers of social sciences in India and overseas. It will also benefit the researchers by serving as a resource for beginner researchers interested in analyzing different texts and academic resources. Interest is an important factor that motivates and energizes the learning of students. The present study investigated the enhancement of mathematical interest through visual mapping programming of 9th-standard students. Here the 50 experimental samples were drawn from Bengali medium in West Bengal Board of Secondary Education School of Howrah District West Bengal State. One group of pre and post-test experimental designs were adopted. A standardized mathematical interest scale by Dr. Uma Tandon and Ashok Pal was used for pre and post-test to measure the mathematical interest of 9th-standard students. Visual mapping programs were developed by the researchers. The hypothecation was tested by using z-score analysis and objectives were answered by using mean SD and feedback sheet of students. The finding was a significant difference in the enhancement of interest in the mathematics of students. Thus, it can be concluded that the visual mapping program enhanced students’ interest in mathematics. Keywords: Visual mapping, concept mapping, mind mapping, thinking maps, mathematical interest.

The research attempted to analyse the effectiveness of the Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE) Strategy for developing Vocabulary among Secondary School Students. Pre-Test Post-Test non-equivalent Group design was adopted for present study. The study is conducted on a sample of 60 students and revealed that the strategy is very effective for developing Vocabulary of English and very easy to use in classrooms. OTT media distribution is found to be one of the strongest media for entertainment and recreational needs of the consumers, in today’s time. The impact of OTT platforms cannot be denied, them being easily accessible to the people, being inexpensive as well as offering an elaborate catalogue of content. These platforms have made the most noise among the youngsters with 89% of the consumers of OTT-services ranging from 18-25 years of age. There has been an observation where OTT platforms are carrying out a wider distribution of films which range from 75-90 Minutes in duration and barely touching 120 Minutes mark. The films of 120 minutes and more in duration have seen a decline. Also, the reisasudden escalation in mini- series format where all the episodes are provided in one release, which triggers binge-watching tendencies among the consumers where they may invest their most engagement in one session of watching. Since Mini series format and short-duration movies are getting highest consumer engagement, this study will inquire the shift in the viewer’s consumption habit of films/TV shows due to OTT platforms and what may the socio-psychological aspects triggering such shift. Teacher was a perfect model for the students in every aspect of life. The relation was founded more on love and affection rather than authority. In the present scenario, matter of teacher sustainability is seemed a dream of a distant. Due to advancement of science and technology there is lot of changes in education system,such as changes in teaching and learning, nature of job, private and government sector, salary, status of teacher, payment stricture, safety and security, qualification for recruitment, refresher and orientation cources, decline interest of students in regular studies, on line cources,change in the relationship as authourity rather than love and affection,. Without satisfaction of teachers, to talk about teacher sustainability will meaningless .The facilities and incentives offered in this profession are so meager that many of talented persons do not think of becoming teachers but seek position elsewhere.

In the last two decades, rapid changes in education brought about by information and communication technology have caused a revolution in the educational system. Online learning is gaining prominence. Awareness of pupil teachers' attitudes toward online learning requires an understanding of their perceptions. Students' perspectives of online learning have been reported in both positive and negative ways in studies. The research paper studied the impact of gender, funding status, region, and setting on pupil teachers' attitudes towards online learning. The analysis revealed that gender and funding status did not have a significant influence on the pupil teachers' attitudes, whereas region and setting had a significant impact. Pupil teachers from the NCR region and rural settings exhibited a more positive attitude towards online learning compared to those from the Delhi region and urban settings. The acceptance of online learning was also higher in the NCR region and rural setting. These findings suggest that regional and contextual factors play a crucial role in shaping pupil teachers' perceptions of online learning. Access to resources, exposure to technology, and cultural factors may contribute to the observed differences.
